You have an idea for a series, but you don’t know how to present it?

We’ll work with you to get your script into the right format for a successful pitch.

Script to Pitch is a program for the professional development of a series pitchbook for VoD platforms.

The goal of the program is the successful evaluation and further development of the best series pitchbooks at film festivals and markets in the upcoming year. We at Planet 9 Pictures are looking forward to a long-term cooperation with writers in the development of series in our writers room. From submissions, a total of 4 writers will be selected. The course will be held in German language. Participation is free of charge.

The intensive course is based on 5 full-day online sessions over a period of 6 weeks, which will take place in individual and group work, as well as in the company of authors and producers from Planet 9 Pictures:

How to apply

The application period for Script-to-Pitch 2022 is open until July 22.

- the logline
- a synopsis (about one page)
- three sentences about the main characters
- a brief summary of the world, genre, and tone.

Verena_Hartges

Verena Hartges

Verena Hartges works as a news journalist, TV writer and director for 20 years. She participated in the „STOFF.Lab“ of the Filmhaus Babelsberg and since 2021 in the „Serien.Lab“ of the Masterschool Drehbuch in Berlin. Hartges says of herself: „As a writer of fictional material, I can create a world as I like it. As a news journalist, I formulate facts. I write because it organizes my thoughts and creates new ones.“

Die Hamburgerin Verena Hartges arbeitet seit 20 Jahren als Nachrichtenredakteurin, Fernseh-Autorin und Regisseurin. Sie nahm am „STOFF.Lab“ des Filmhauses Babelsberg teil und seit 2021 am „Serien.Lab“ der Masterschool Drehbuch in Berlin. Hartges sagt über sich selbst, frei nach einer der größten Anarchistinnen unserer Zeit: „Als Autorin für fiktionale Stoffe kann ich mir eine Welt schaffen, wie sie mir gefällt. Als Nachrichtenjournalistin formuliere ich Fakten. Ich schreibe, weil es meine Gedanken ordnet und neue schafft.“

Björn Breithor

Björn Breithor grew up in the tranquil region of Bergisches Land, where series like ALF, Buffy and Lost were his gateway to the world. After graduating from high school, he therefore moved to Cologne, where he attended his first screenwriting seminars and developed film and series concepts while still a student. In the meantime, he has not only written many hours of television content as a writer for afternoon TV and soaps, but also optioned several series concepts. He was entrusted with the development of a sitcom and participated in the Producing WINTERCLASS – Serial Writing in 2020.

Björn Breithor wuchs im beschaulichen Bergischen Land auf, wo Serien wie ALF, Buffy und Lost sein Tor zur Welt waren. Nach dem Abitur zog es ihn deshalb in die Medienstadt Köln, wo er bereits während des Studiums erste Drehbuchserminare besuchte sowie Film- und Serien-Konzepte entwickelte. Inzwischen hat er nicht nur viele Stunden Fernsehen als Autor für das Nachmittagsfernsehen und eine Vorabend-Soap geschrieben, sondern auch mehrere Serien-Konzepte optioniert, wurde mit der Entwicklung einer Sitcom betraut und hat 2020 an der WINTERCLASS – Serial Writing an Producing teilgenommen.

Fanny Kleinmann

As a studied journalist, Fanny Kleinmann dealt almost exclusively with non-fictional texts, but her love of creative storytelling gained the upper hand at the latest with further training as a screenwriter in spring 2021. Kleinmann has been writing texts based on her experiences, dreams or Jewish identity since her school days. Now she wants to stimulate thoughts and discussions with her stories.

Als studierte Journalistin befasste Fanny Kleinmann sich fast ausschließlich mit non-fiktionalen Texten, doch ihre Liebe zu kreativem Storytelling gewann spätestens mit einer Weiterbildung zur Drehbuchautorin im Frühjahr 2021 die Überhand. Schon seit Schulzeiten schrieb Kleinmann Texte basierend auf ihren Erlebnissen, Träumen oder ihrer jüdischen Identität. Nun möchte sie mit ihren Geschichten Gedanken und Diskussionen anregen.

Teresa_Feldhoff

Teresa Feldhoff

Teresa Feldhoff studied literature, culture and media studies and has already flitted across red carpets as a film PR manager. Since she couldn’t live out her creative streak enough in advertising and sales, she now concentrates on her work as a freelance author and copywriter. In 2021, she completed her training as a writer for film and TV at the Master School Drehbuch in Berlin.

Teresa Feldhoff hat Literatur-, Kultur- und Medienwissenschaften studiert und ist als Film PR-Managerin schon nebenfigürlich über rote Teppiche geflitzt. Da sie in der Werbung und im Vertrieb ihre kreative Ader nicht genug ausleben konnte, konzentriert sie sich inzwischen auf ihre Arbeit als freie Autorin und Texterin. 2021 absolvierte sie die Ausbildung zur Autorin für Film & TV an der Master School Drehbuch in Berlin.
